Happy Wednesday, loves! The heat wave was absolutely killer last week and I adamantly refused to wear pants. Thank god for this easy eyelet dress--perfect for any summer occasion! This piece has definitely become one of my favorites for the season. In love with the silhouette, design, texture--and it's made of such breathable material!

I couldn't have asked for a more versatile piece. Absolutely perfect for brunch, date night, happy hour...I'm all about having pieces in the wardrobe that can do double duty these days. One thing I've come to realize about adulting? There actually isn't a ton of time and energy left over after that full time job. So, it's a relief to be able to count on certain pieces to take me from day to night.

 Still trying to get a handle of how to balance work and blog, but I think I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. Expect many, many more dresses to come for the next month or so...although Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has already got me picking up must-haves for fall! Will be sharing my picks and splurges soon, plus the sale opens up to the public this Friday! Mark your calendars, darlings.

Happy Friday, loves! These summer weeks are just flying by for me! But...just because it's summer, doesn't mean I'm giving up my monochrome!

I definitely feel that New York has influenced and changed my personal style and aesthetic. I was definitely a lot more colorful and preppier--even when you look back to my posts from last summer! Maybe it's something in the water, but my color palette has definitely toned down and leans more toward the neutral side these days.

Instead of playing with bright colors this summer, I'm focusing on mixing textures. It's all in the details when it comes to any look and making what I wear to work look different every day is all about how I pair my textured pieces.

Absolutely dying over this eyelet top. LOVE that it's got a kind of mock neck design, but still totally appropriate for summer because of the eyelet material. It actually reminds me of those Self Portrait tops, but at a much more affordable price. Already thinking of a million ways to rewear this in the coming months!

And of course, wide legged pants are coming back in! After years and years of the skinny fit, we are going back to wide-legs! In love with this particular fit of wide-legged trousers--they do the trend perfectly while not being too overwhelming. 

Paired together, this has got to be one of my favorite office looks...so be prepared to see these pieces as some regular closet VIPs going forward. ;D

Happy Sunday, loves! Something a little different and super special for you darlings today! Fashion week was absolute madness this season--I never expected to be running to back to back shows, but I couldn't have asked for a better blogger in crime, Angela of Explicit Affairs,  to take it all on with me. For the most part, we'd been having a mild winter in New York...until the week of NYFW and temperatures dropped thirty degrees and wind chill made walking even a block extremely brutal. We were all holding our fedoras for dear life! (haha.) 

Honestly though, it's those little moments that you look back toward and laugh about that make the experience that much more worth it. Getting invited and previewing a designer's collection is definitely an honor--but it's all about the company you keep. I would not have had nearly as much fun without this girl by my side at every event, networking social and presentation. And naturally...we had to coordinate our outfits at least once during fashion week. ;D We're both seriously in love with the eyelet trend that's in full force at the moment and couldn't help donning these two gorgeous dresses to the shows, despite the snowfall that day.
