Happy Monday, loves! Beyond excited to be sharing with you a little glimpse into the daily life of Areta's Style Secrets and a part of my weekend getaway from last week in Chicago! Now, when it comes to hotels and travel, I'm a seasoned veteran. From studying abroad to weekend travels, I've definitely had my fair share of travel experiences.
One of the most frustrating things while traveling, and I know many of you will agree, are the annoying hotel rules and fees! Check-in rules, check-out rules, rules on pets, outrageous mini bar and room service fees and of course, those hidden fees that just get you in the end! It's not exactly the most pleasant travel experience all the time. That's why in the end, we chose to stay with Virgin Hotels--a super new concept of hotel accommodation that is innovating the norms of travel! Gone are the restrictions on check in and check out times, gone are the ridiculous surcharges on room service and those hidden fees! Not to mention, each floor in the hotel has two room designated as "pet friendly!" Plus, it's located right at the heart of downtown Chicago...so pretty much everything we're looking for in a quick weekend trip out of town.
Here's a little peek at my work station during the getaway. A blogger's always on the clock, right? Making myself cozy in this little corner overlooking Chicago's magnificent buildings. The room design that Virgin Hotels has planned is absolutely ingenious. The sleeping area is actually separated from the foyer and bathroom with a sliding wall! This way, if I wake up first and want to get ready and shower/blow-dry my hair, I can actually do it without disturbing others who are also in the room! Ordering room service never felt so good, especially when the prices aren't absolutely outrageous! Virgin makes sure not to put ridiculous surcharges on their mini bar or room service. Besides, their mini bar options aren't just your conventional soda and snacks...they've got some tempting options, including things like astronaut ice cream or champagne gummy bears!
The arrangement of the foyer was pretty ingenious as well--separating the toilet from the shower and placing a vanity in between the two. This is pretty much your every-girl's dream hotel space. A proper place to get ready to take on the day! #GirlBoss. On the opposite side of the vanity, there are his and her closets and the sink area is in between them.
