Hello, 22.

Happy Sunday, loves! A rare and more personal look into my life today--sharing a few snapshots of my current living situation and talking about some of the things that I've learned these past 22 years. I recently just celebrated my birthday, those of you who follow me on Instagram probably already know this. But I wanted to do a different kind of post today and give some insight into what's shaped my current mindset and outlook on life.

22 Thing I've Come To Realize From These Past 22 Years:

1. Life is sweeter when it is shared.
2. Travel often and travel well.
3. There are no bad experiences, just teaching moments.
4. Be authentic.
5. Always look for the silver lining.
6. Spend your money on experiences over the material.
7. Never apologize for saying no.
8. Cherish, grow and cultivate your friendships.
9. Say yes to trying new things and stepping out of your comfort zone.
10. Live the little things.
11. Stop procrastinating and take charge of your own progress and change.
12. Know your own self worth.
13. Perfection is overrated.
14. Make time for the things that truly matter.
15. Don't let your insecurities dictate your choices.
16. It's okay not to have everything figured out.
17. Hustle for your dreams, but always prioritize happiness.
18. Seek out personal and real-life connections.
19. Take the initiative to meet new people.
20. Stop judging and be more understanding and compassionate.
21. Take criticism with grace and appreciation.
22. Always say yes to dessert and brunch.

Totally realize that this post kind of reads like a bad Buzzfeed article--but hey, this list also serves as motivation and a reminder to myself to not take life too seriously, because in the end, we all want the same thing: to be happy.

I believe that 22 is a significant turning point in our lives because it's the year we graduate college, find a "real" job, and actually begin to face the realities of life. It's a magical time because there really are unlimited possibilities to where your life could be headed. You're unconstrained by the restrictions of later adult life, and are also beginning to live and learn on your own terms, personally and financially. So...here's a toast to being 22 and to venturing into uncharted waters.
