Birthday Brunching @ Mr. Purple NYC

Happy Thursday, loves! With the weekend fast approaching (and brunch on my mind again), I wanted to share my birthday brunch experience from a couple of weeks ago with all of you! Now usually, I despise my winter birth date because it's always too cold to really do anything outside. This year though, I was blessed with some of the most amazing weather--clear skies and a high of 65 degree...in February no less! Happy to say, we took to the rooftops and headed over for brunch with a view in the Lower East Side at Mr. Purple NYC!

The interior decor and set up did not fail to impress. All the floor to ceiling windows let in the most gorgeous natural lighting, and we were able to enjoy our brunch in the happy glow & warmth of the sun. The outdoor patio offered an incredible skyline of the city, with the freedom tower peeking out from FiDi just south of us, and the Empire State Building rising up in the north.

Taking full advantage of the warm day, I chose a stunning sleeveless wine-red eyelet dress for the occasion. I've been pretty obsessed with lace and eyelet this past season, if you couldn't tell from my previous blog post ;D, and especially swooning over the ones designed by Alexis & Self Portrait. Can't say that these two brands are particularly easy on the wallet, so I was ecstatic to find a more affordable version of the eyelet trend in this particular dress! Needless to say, it was perfect for the occasion, and I'm excited to pull it out for special events in the future!

Despite the amazing aesthetics, decor and views, I have to say that I was not particularly impressed with the quality of food or the service at Mr. Purple. I mean, what else did I expect, right? It's a rooftop bar/lounge on top of a hotel. However, for the prices that you're paying, you'd be expecting a full service kind of experience, am I right? Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this venue for those of you looking to grab cocktails and a small bite to eat at happy hour! The space is absolutely stunning and perfect for catching up with a girlfriend or grabbing quick drinks on a date!

All in all...a truly blessed experience, surrounded by some the closest friends I've made over the past few years. I've picked up a couple life lessons during my time in NYC, but there's one that always rings true: life is sweeter when it is shared.

With Much Love,
*Disclaimer for Future Guests: Balloons or flowers were prohibited since the Mr. Purple Team believed it would conflict with their aesthetic. Additionally, there was a cake cutting fee of $5pp for future reference, just in case any of you are thinking of hosting a birthday celebration at this venue. They do not offer a dessert menu despite the steep fee, although I hear apparently they do offer a complimentary Melt ice cream cake (but, I was not offered this option so I can't vouch for how credible this is).
